CONNECT WITH OUR MINISTRIES

At First Christian Church our ministries provide settings that promote friendship, support, and opportunities to learn about and to serve Jesus and our neighbors.  We all experience daily challenges in life.  At certain times, we can all benefit from the support of a caring Christian friend.  By connecting with other Christians, we find friends who will pray for and with us and who will encourage us along life's pathway wherever it might lead.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Adult and Children/Youth Sunday School Classes are offered at 11:00 a.m. following worship.

Special Bible Studies or Topical Studies are also offered at times during the year.

Vacation Bible School is held each summer.  Check the calendar for dates.

WOMEN'S MINISTRIES

All women are invited to attend the Disciples Women's Ministries meetings that are usually held on the 4th Monday of the month @ 7:00 p.m.  The meetings include study, worship, missions discussion, short business or planning meeting, refreshments, and fellowship time.  Spring One-Day Events are held for the districts, and a Fall Retreat is held in September for the Pennsylvania Region.  A picnic and a Christmas Tea are held annually for the women of the congregation and their invited guests.

MEN'S MINISTRIES

All men are invited to attend the quarterly meetings of the Tri-County Men's Fellowship that are usually held on a Thursday at different churches in the districts.  The meeting includes a delicious meal, a short business meeting, entertainment, an offering to benefit the Timothy program, and fellowship time.

MUSIC MINISTRY

All those who love to sing are invited to sing with the Adult Choir.  Choir rehearsals are on Wednesdays @ 6:30 p.m. from September through May.  The adult choir provides special music for the Sunday morning worship.  Repertoire includes traditional hymn settings, praise & worship selections, and gospel songs. 

Singers and instrumentalists are invited to minister with the Praise Team.  Praise Team rehearsals are on Thursdays before the Praise & Worship Service and at other times as needed.

The children's bell choir plays during morning worship on special Sundays.  Children, ages 2 & up, are invited to play the bells.  The children ring their colored bell when they see their "color" on the chart.  Parents or older brothers & sisters are encouraged to help the very young ones play with the group.

FAMILY MINISTRY

The DWM hosts an annual Golden Agers dinner for those 70 years and above.  The festive evening begins with a delicious meal and includes fellowship time and entertainment.

The DWM sponsors the Secret Sister program that runs from January to December.  In this special program, women remember their "sister" in prayer and bring a card or small gift to them each month.

MISSION & SERVICE

At different times during the year, our congregation participates in mission and service projects.  Current and past projects include Washington City Mission, Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child, DOC Kids-to-Kids Kits, WOC Tools & Blankets Offering, CYS Sock & Mitten Tree, Local Food Pantry, & Mission Trips to Honduras.
